Gradient Wallpaper Maker

Turn any gradient into a wallpaper or a looping video background for your phone, desktop, website or socials. Four styles, motion, grain, every common size — made in your browser.

Make a gradient wallpaper in three steps

Pick two to four colours — or start from any gradient in the library — choose a style and a size, and download. The image is drawn in your browser at full resolution, so a 4K wallpaper is a real 3840 × 2160 PNG, not an upscaled thumbnail, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

The four styles

  • Linear — the classic straight blend; the angle sets the direction.
  • Radial — the colours spread out from a point near the top, which keeps icons and widgets readable at the bottom of a phone screen.
  • Mesh — soft overlapping colour fields, the look of most modern OS wallpapers. The angle rotates the arrangement.
  • Glow — your colours as light on a near-black ground. Ideal for dark mode and OLED phones, where black pixels are switched off.

Animated gradient backgrounds, as video

Switch on Motion and the same design becomes a seamless loop — the linear angle sways, radial light drifts, mesh colours float and glow lights pulse. Pick a 6, 10 or 20-second loop and download it as an MP4 (or WebM where a browser can’t make MP4). Use it as a live phone wallpaper, an Instagram Story or Reel, or a muted, looping hero video on a website — the first and last frames match, so it never jumps.

Grain, and why it helps

A smooth gradient across a large screen can show visible steps — banding — especially on 8-bit displays and after a phone recompresses the image. A little grain breaks those steps up. Here it is scaled to the image, so it stays visible on a 4K desktop instead of vanishing into sub-pixel noise. See Grainy Gradients for how it works in CSS.

Sizes

Presets cover iPhone (1290 × 2796) and Android (1080 × 2400) lock screens, iPad and MacBook, desktop from Full HD to 4K and ultrawide, and social formats — Instagram posts and stories, X and LinkedIn headers, YouTube banners. Anything else, type a custom size up to 8000 pixels.

Every gradient page also links here with its own colours filled in. Looking for colours first? Try colour combinations, the gradient of the day or a gradient from a photo.
