About yellow gradients

Yellow is the smallest set here for a reason: it is the most difficult hue to build a gradient from. It occupies a narrow slice of the wheel, it goes muddy the moment you darken it, and it fails contrast against white at almost every value.

As an accent against a dark ground it is unbeatable — nothing draws the eye faster. As a page background it exhausts within seconds. If a yellow gradient looks cheap, the fix is usually to move one stop toward amber rather than to desaturate it.
